Low-e glass is an energy-saving glass which is also known as Low-E Glass and has very high efficiency. Low Emissivity is abbreviated to Low-E, meaning low radiation. Usually a thin layer of metal or metallic oxide covering on the face of such a glass will be used to provide good reflection to infrared rays while allowing visible one through. The major advantage of low-e glasses is that they minimize heat loss thus making buildings more energy efficient. In winter, low-e glasses can prevent indoor heat from being lost outside; in summer it reflects most of the sun’s heat hence reducing air conditioning usage hence save power.
